Start of Maintenance & One Year ago

Friday, May 17th - 6 am

Julia had clinic day on Wednesday, she made the counts to start the last phase of treatment. This phase is called Maintenance, it mainly consists of oral chemotherapy medications given at home, there will be a few lumbar punctures in between & chemo infusions. The goal of this phase is for Julia to 'Retain-Maintain' her blood, platelets, immunity & all other vital levels despite the oral meds. This last phase will take some trial & error until they find Juju's perfect (cocktail) amount of oral chemo. They started her at the standard level for her age & weight. We are going back to the clinic in two weeks for a lab test, after the results the doctors will evaluate and make adjustments to the meds doses if necessary unless we see a rapid decline and need to be adjusted sooner.

This phase will last one year & a half. We have an end date of September 18th, 2025. Yes, 2025.. Julia has been doing so beautiful! We are so thankful as we now see the light at the end of the tunnel and we are getting closer as each day passes. Praise be to God for All of His goodness & faithfulness.

Tomorrow Saturday, May 18th will mark a year since we were sent straight to the hospital as it was not safe for Julia to return home. My heart sank in anguish as the walk-in clinic Doctor told me she had contacted the Oncology specialist and they had secured a bed for Julia at the hospital. I've been a ball of heavy emotions since this month started, so much in my heart! So much pain mixed with beauty and blessings all at the same time! We've come so far since that very painful day. Watching Julia battling like a mighty warrior, with her strong will, yet sweet spirit & resilience is inspiring. God's faithfulness has been UNMATCHED. He has been our Rock, He's answered hundreds of our prayers, He's giving me comfort and peace in the waiting, He's provided all that we need, He surrounded me with the most beautiful friends, family in Christ to lift my arms continuously. God continues to guide us daily, there are so many ways in which Jesus has manifested Himself in tangible ways, my heart spills with so much gratitude, how could we not love Him more & more.

Would you join me in praying for God's continued strength over Julia. She's been complaining for about 3 weeks now of pain in her bones, we treat with ice & warm baths, Dr. said migth be growing pains, not sure🙏🏼 She's in a 5-day round of steroids, and the side effects are heavy emotions, energy & lots of hunger. Pray for her willingness to take her oral meds, wisdom for her doctors as they pin the right meds, diligence for me giving meds & be
