Phase 3 “Interim”

Monday 9/11

Julia had a wonderful birthday week! We are so grateful for all the love she received throughout the week and she felt very special & cherished everyday, thank you! The little library opening day on her birthday was a great success, neighbors and friends showed up with books that filled the library.

Above picture is from last Tuesday clinic day - super hero theme, juju rocking like the fighting warrior that she is. Health wise this last week Juju struggled with nausea/vomiting almost every morning, also eating very little. I could tell by Sunday evening that she probably needs a blood transfusion asap. This morning we have an eye doctor annual follow up appointment, and clinic day to start phase 3 on Tuesday.

I have to admit, this next phase “Interim Intensification” is difficult, and my heart feels anxious & overwhelmed - I need more courage from Jesus to stand and trust completely He has Julia in the grip of His loving hand. Today’s Bible verse and devo from the Bible app is exactly what my heart & mind need to be encouraged on.

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

Prayer request:

• Blood product to be timely, it’s specially ordered and we need speedy expedition.

• Julia’s physical and emotional strength to keep fighting strong for the next 9 weeks.

• Julia’s ANC (defenses) were at zero last Tuesday, she needs to be at 750 to qualify and start the next phase of treatment.

• God’s protection of Julia’s brain, kidneys & liver as she starts the 24hr Chemotherapy under the hospital supervision. This medication MTX is rough, we need God’s protection all over Juju.

• Wisdom for the doctors & nurses caring for Julia, God’s divine favor and patience.

• Her appetite to improve, nausea to seize.

• The peace of God that surpasses all understanding to be with us, wisdom from God to make us assertive advocates for our precious one.

Appreciate each of you taking time to read Julia’s updates & lift prayers in our behalf.  It’s my prayer that God refreshes you and blesses you this week. He is ever present and our hope is in Him.
