Juju's Outings! Phase 5

Wednesday, March 6th - 10pm update

Juju's been fighting like a ninja in slow-mo this week, against her physical weakness, diarrhea from the antibiotics, and low appetite. She hasn't been dressing up anymore, PJs are her all-day everyday outfits. But every day she overcomes a little bit more... she finds enough energy to ask to go outside and have tea, observe insects in our yard, ride a few steps on her scooter, and we even took her for a quick Costco trip (on a divine low people traffic hour). This was her 1st time out in a crowded space since diagnosis, felt like an accomplishment, hip hip hurray!

Today Julia started the next phase - "Interim Maintenance II", feels like it never ends, doesn't it? But we are almost there, we see the light. This phase 5 is 8 weeks of chemotherapy treatments spaced 10 days apart. She did amazing today, she had a lumbar puncture w/chemo, two chemo infusions, and other stuff. She's completely wiped out tonight. We are back tomorrow morning for another 2-hour chemo. Juju has come a long way from her early treatment days. I faithfully believe our Magnificent Father God is showing us His love and the strong hand of grace & mercy.

Her leg issue has not been resolved, I just took her to get an ultrasound and it shows a quarter-size mass and fluid underneath. Now we are just waiting for a referral. She will need to get that drained & removed. Help me pray for no complications & prompt healing!

Thank you for your prayers for my little sunshine. We need Juju to get physically stronger, gain her appetite back, get restful healing sleep & and keep nausea/viruses at bay. Praying God blesses you and fills you with His peace, love, joy, and wonderful presence.

This last weekend I got one of those social media memories from a year ago, and it gives me so much hope that very soon I will be able to take my little sunshine back to our outdoor adventures, back to church, and do everything else I've promised to do with her. I told a friend of mine recently, it feels as if we are in prison or home arrest. But in the quiet, I've grown so much in Christ, taken inventory of what truly matters & gained so much hope & joy for what is to come. God is so good. Only through the renewing of my mind in Christ, I can move forward with hope for the future, even through difficult seasons & decisions. My faith in Christ is surely the anchor of my soul. Thank you for your love, time & prayers.
