Juju Hospitalization update

Thursday - 2/22/24 - 11pm
It's been a rough 24hrs. But at @7pm today juju's condition turned around for the best, as the hospital on-call PEDs doctor said, "out of the woods". At 2 am one of the blood cultures came back positive for E. Coli bacteria, and prayer answered to the source of her fever/infection. Also, overnight her bug bite grew so they started marking it with a surgical pen to keep track. Now, we are waiting for a 2nd culture test that will determine the type of growth, and from that they will be able to determine/target what antibiotic to use to treat this type of E. Coli.
How would she contract E. Coli? Could have been from water, foodborne, her own gut since she has low defenses/white blood cells to fight infections, could have been from the bug bite, and many other possibilities as her doctor explained.
A couple of weeks ago, juju and I had garlic noodles from a place that she loves. Later that day juju & I got the runs, only the two of us had shared that meal. I was able to fight it off immediately, but I believe this is when this bacteria potentially entered her body.
God is good, bringing comfort & peace during chaos. This afternoon as she laid in bed: weak, achy, and just miserable! I broke down in grief to see my little one suffering. But God's wonderful presence & promises give me room to shed a few tears and soon after have rays of joy, hope, and a grateful heart. Thankful for you all remembering her sweet Julia-juju name in your prayers, selflessly as you have your own needs. Thank you with all my heart!
If you join me in praying for my little sunshine's condition to stabilize and, for healthy red blood cells and platelets to be made by her bone marrow, currently she is getting transfusions to help her. For her white blood cells to rise to fight infections, for wisdom from her doctor to target the bacteria with the best meds possible, for the bug bite resolution, and patience, as we remain here in the hospital without an exit date yet, thank you.

We miss you so much and praying daily God graces you with strength and continued successful healing as you overcome every challenge that comes your way, I’ll be praying for you and Tiana too!! I am so sorry for all the unimaginable heartache seeing little Juju suffering 😭 I can’t even imagine what you are going through but I do know that the Lord allows us go through the sorrows and then fills our hearts with His unexplainable joy and comforts us in time of need.
