IM Phase - Week 3

10/2/23 Update - 9pm

Our little sunshine had a wonderful week, the best we have seen her since treatment started. Physically might not look that way as she’s very pale and loosing more hair, but her spirit is joyful & playful as she was before diagnosis.

Today Julia started her treatment Week 3 of 9, IM (Interim Maintenance) phase.

Julia’s port was accessed successfully, lumbar puncture was administered and for the 1st time ever she woke up peacefully 🙌🏼. She is now doing her 24hour high dose chemotherapy at the hospital, which concludes tomorrow at 6pm.

We appreciate your prayers for a smooth treatment, all working properly, and for her body to respond well and rid of the chemo toxicity effectively. Praying for the medical team, divine wisdom and God’s peace & joy caring for our juju and all the littles on the floor. It takes a special character to be a pediatric nurse and we are so grateful for this team. I want to thank you for keeping Julia in your prayers. It means the world.

Julia has been the recipient of a few beautiful handmade ‘PRAYER BLANKETS’. They are so intricate, and special in their own unique way. The thought of these individual beautiful hands; hand stitching, crocheting a delicate marrow edge or stitch quilt with tie yarns as a symbol of prayers and blessings, covering our little sunshine while she is receiving treatment makes my heart overflow with thankfulness for God’s people. Might seem like a small thing but in our lives it represents the very tangible love and character of God. Woke up this morning with Psalm 91 in my mind, with deep confidence and thankfulness that God has Julia and our family under His covering, under His protection.

“He will cover you and completely protect you with His pinions, And under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and a wall.”
