'I just want to...' - CD 474d to EOT

CD (countdown) 474d (days) to EOT (End Of Treatment

Julia is doing great! We had clinic day last Wednesday (5/29) to check on her blood numbers. Her levels are dropping slightly because she is on daily oral chemo, but not dropping enough to deplete her or change her daily dose for now. These numbers reflect that her body is tolerating the medication well. We have no idea what to expect, but so far we've had fewer clinic appointments or complications we are happy with this new routine and Juju is looking & feeling good, we couldn't ask for anything more.

We did have a couple of scares 2 weeks ago Monday & Tuesday (picture above in pain) after coming out of the 5-day steroid round, she had extreme bone pain, to the point that I had to take her both days to be seen. Julia's doctor explained the bone pain was a side effect of the steroids. Thankfully the rest of the week the pains lessened, and she is no longer complaining about bone pain.

The next clinic day is until 6/12 - Day 29 of Maintenance. In this appointment, she will get a lumbar puncture with chemo and two prophylactic medications. Please pray for Julia to maintain her blood numbers for the next 2 weeks, and for her to continue to feel well, one big request is for me to overcome any fear/nerves in reintroducing her to public places & gatherings. I just want to protect her and keep her safe. I need God's wisdom and direction on how to take baby steps to do that, I do not want to jeopardize her progress in any way. I am mainly concerned about any viral infections which eventually she will need to be exposed to and train her immune system to fight that kind of bug.

Overall, Juju is doing so wonderful! Her hair is growing back, she's taking her oral medications well, she is sleeping great, so many little cute things she's saying & doing. She's an expert Monarch butterfly rescuer & handler, she longs to hang out with little friends. Cute story, we have a little neighbor across the street, he is around 2 years younger than Juju. She's been hanging out with him a couple of times in the front yard, she loves to share the butterflies with him. He is a little shy as he is younger, she wants to hug him and hold his hand, but he pulls back or hides behind his mom. I told her to be gentle and give him some space. Later one of those evenings after hanging out with him, she was eating quietly & doing homework at the dinner table and she just spoke her thoughts out loud 'I just want to hug that boy'. LOL!!! I still giggle at her cuteness, so much to give & love.

Our oldest Geo graduated college 🙏🏼 Praise God! Despite all adversity that also affected her this last year, she remained focus & did it!! Our pride & joy... Dream big dreams my baby girl!

This month I was able to enjoy some time with some of my best friends & celebrating with a couple of Geo's friend that also graduated!
