Happy Easter! Week 4 - IM II

Good Friday 3/29 - 11 pm update

Happy Good Friday family! Today was not only a Good Friday as we observed and reflected on Jesus' sacrifice of love for us, His death on the cross, our Julia had a couple of two really good days on a row in clinic, which is always a reason to celebrate another day's victory in this battle.

We are in week 4 of Interim Maintenance II - this week Julia finished her 4th treatment every 10 days apart; yesterday two chemo infusions & today another 1 hour of chemo. She went all 10 days without a lab check-up, which means her blood numbers & immunity (ANC) are holding and not drastically dropping. Her lab numbers this week show them trending down likely she will need blood products by Wednesday, praying she is able to remain strong and numbers to hold again. We already have an appointment to ensure she can make it until her next round in 10 days from today.

Yesterday Julia also had a follow-up leg ultrasound to check on the cellulitis, it has gotten significantly smaller, yet the ultrasound showed there is still fluid, therefore she needs to continue with the antibiotics for another 2 weeks. The cold sweats she was having have resolved, and her appetite/diet is ok, which is something that we will continue to battle to get her to eat healthy stuff consistently. Juju has been on nausea medication around the clock, overall she is doing well. Thank you for your prayers and remembering my sweet Julia, it means so much to me. I feel so grateful for you all, and is my prayer God blesses you abundantly in tangible ways so that you may experience His presence, peace & love.

It's been a great Holy Week for Juju, butterflies hatched (more in the next blog), and we got a visit from the Easter bunny in clinic today, she was skeptical and I couldn't get any closer, I couldn't stop laughing. Also earlier this week Julia was blessed by our neighbors Iris & Balsam with a beautiful Easter basket juju can't stop talking about it and also special mail/news she received too.
