Dear Family,

I’ve missed updating you all and want to share how Julia is doing. It’s been a tough month since my last update. If you remember Julia caught a cold virus in early September, diagnosed as Rhinovirus. Thankfully, we celebrated her fifth birthday a couple of weeks later on the 21st, but the following week after her birthday she started coughing and experiencing congestion.

I took her to the clinic a week ago, and while her lungs sounded clear, her cough worsened. After a week on antibiotics with no improvement, we went back last Wednesday for a respiratory panel and x-ray. It was a challenging visit, filled with tears and worry.

When I saw the x-ray images, I was terrified by what looked like a large cloud in her lung area and a concerning mass in her abdomen. However, the results came back completely normal! Her blood work was excellent, and the respiratory panel showed a positive for Enterovirus—just another strand of the cold virus.

Julia is now on a stronger antibiotic, and she’s finally starting to feel better.

Reflecting on this experience, I’ve learned or Debunked two important ideas:

  1. I’m not an X-ray technician! I was so wrong to worry based on my interpretation of the x-ray. as my husband firmly told me "stay in the fashion industry", hahahaha!

  2. No news is always good news. Sometimes, fast results can bring great relief and this was the fastest greatest news we could have received.

Thank you all for your love, prayers, and support. I’m truly grateful for each of you.

Lastly, Julia is a Hometown Hero, raising funds for the amazing foundation that brought us Blue Skies this last summer! We would love your support—any amount helps, even $5! Please check out our story and consider contributing to help us reach our goal. Thank you so much!

“Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours]. “ Philippians 4:6-7

Our hope is in the Lord!
