Community & Week 7

Sunday - 8/20 - 6:pm update

Julia had a wonderful rest of the week. Tuesday we went back to clinic for her blood transfusion. Friday we had to go back for another blood test to check her platelet levels, they were lower than Monday, but transfusion was not needed 🙌🏼 Juju’s had very mild chemo symptoms, her appetite improved this week (favorite food today is cheese garlic toast), and she had good levels of energy. Enough to help me bake for a fundraiser at our church. Praising God for answering our prayers and keeping Julia strong this week.

Tomorrow Monday we start week 7 of 8 in the intensification phase. She will be getting  two IV chemotherapies. One runs for 10 minutes, the 2nd one for 1 hour, she may get potential blood transfusions as her numbers continue to drop.

Prayer requests:

• Julia to remain physically strong in these last two weeks of the intensification phase.

• Protection of her body from any viruses, bacteria’s & infections. She’s neutropenic (low defenses)

• Blood products to be readily available. Her blood takes longer to make due to the foreign antibody in her blood.

• God’s wisdom & patience for the nurses & doctor managing her care (specially when accessing her port.

Thanks family for your time invested praying for our little sunshine! I can feel God’s presence. I’ve seen His strong hand sustaining us in many ways.

This week I’ve been so grateful for the beautiful COMMUNITY we are surrounded by! Our gracious neighbors, my motherhood group & our church family at Refuge, my mom’s group of kids with cancer, my GPW friends’ daily & constant Word encouragement, far & near friends-family. How is this possible? For such a time as this God has given us a beautiful community. It is biblical! Earlier this week on the Bible.app the below verses were shared & I couldn’t agree more with this passage!

“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.”

2 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“no matter how bad things get, God can comfort you in a way that no one else can.

You can lean on Him.

And because God's Spirit is within His people, His people can also comfort others. He works in them and through them to offer a hope that's beyond any present or future pain.

Are you hurting physically, mentally, or emotionally? There's a God who cares.

There are people who want to help…”

If you do not have a solid community, seek one desperately! It’s my prayer that I would be just as supportive & present to others in times of need! I’m learning how to love and serve in new ways. So grateful for you all & thankful for your prayers.
