June 1st, 2025 update

We are 3 months and 16 days until the end of treatment!

Hello sweet family,

Thank you for continuing to follow Julia’s journey. I know this can feel like a long and repetitive road, and your love means the world. As we near the finish line, the ups and downs have felt more intense. I catch myself getting overwhelmed by the little things—quiet moments, sleepless nights, or anything that feels “off.” In those times, I try to pause, picture Jesus right in front of me, reminding me to breathe, to trust, and to hold on to His peace and promise that all things will work together for good. He has been faithful throughout this journey.

This past Friday 5/30, Juju had her monthly clinic visit, and it went well—praise God! She received two prophylactic infusions, and we are so grateful for answered prayers her ANC went down where it needed to be. Just a week prior, we had an unplanned clinic visit because she wasn’t feeling well. Her ANC had been high at 3,000. Thank you for praying—her ANC is now at 1,200, and no med changes were needed! Her blood counts have dropped a bit, so we’re watching closely, especially her hemoglobin, which could mean a transfusion if it dips too low—but for now, we’re not worrying.

In my last blog, I shared that after coming back from Texas, Juju caught a cold—no fever, just lots of mucus and a wet morning cough that turned into a dry cough with thick green/yellow mucus. Two weeks ago, she lost her appetite, developed stomach pain, then chest pain. We went to the clinic two weeks ago, and they ran a full workup—EKG, X-ray, labs, respiratory panel—and everything came back normal. Her ANC had jumped from 1.5K to 3K, so clearly, her body was fighting something, even if we couldn’t identify it.

Her oncologist prescribed a 10-day antibiotic for a suspected sinus infection. But by the second day, she started vomiting and had severe diarrhea—likely from the meds. I gave it three days, then stopped, and thankfully her stomach began to settle. Oddly enough, the antibiotic did clear up the sinus issue, but overall, it seemed to do more harm than good.

In RE: Skin issue she developed, we saw a dermatologist three weeks ago, but unfortunately, they couldn’t give a clear diagnosis. For now, Juju is being treated for eczema, but we haven’t seen much improvement. We’ll be seeking a second opinion and hoping for clearer answers soon.

On a brighter note, May brought us many joyful moments—a few celebrations, Mother’s Day, and walking a 5K in honor of my mama and dear friends who’ve passed. We also took Juju to the Aquarium of the Pacific and finished her first year of homeschooling—TK is done, and she did amazing! She’s been caring for her chickens, raising caterpillars, and just last week, held her first monarch butterfly. I even have a photo of her with a monarch from last year in the same dress—what a beautiful reminder of God’s grace and growth.

Thank you so much for your love and prayers—they mean the world to me. I’m always grateful to God for each of you and your kindness in keeping Julia in your prayers. May He bless you abundantly with His presence, joy, peace, and goodness. Stay strong through every trial, knowing God is faithful and will never fail us.

So proper for her days left of Treatment 3months & 16 days a few of my favorite scriptures with the address 3:16

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

"Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in everyway. The Lord be with you all." 2 Thessalonians 3:16

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." Colossians 3:16

Our hope is in the Lord!

Juju is such a delight and love having all of you in our neighborhood. It's a joy to crochet for her and am working on her last request (teddy bear). Love sharing the caterpillar and butterfly stories and hunting for them in the milkweed out front. May God be with you day and night. Love,

Miss Cindy and Dan
